As my team and I started our day, a donor pulled up to leave a donation. The donor began explaining she was donating items that had belonged to her son, Jonathan, who had passed away just a few weeks ago.
She showed pictures of Jonathan and told us that he played football at Oak Ridge High School and joined the Marines after graduation. He went on to attend the University of Tennessee and was employed at UT’s Office of Veterans Administration.
However, the sweetest thing she told us was about his passion for helping those in need. Jonathan would gather clothes and take them to the homeless under the bridge in Knoxville. “Jonathan,” she said, “loved helping the less fortunate.” KARM & KARM Stores does that very thing.
I would like to share with you a passage from Jonathan’s obituary that states:
“Jonathan would be touched if you would make a contribution to Knox Area Rescue Ministries, who will carry on his heartfelt desire to help those less fortunate than he.”
