The 50th Anniversary KARM Cookbook is Coming! |
In celebration of KARM's 50 years of service to East Tennessee, we're creating the commemorative KARM 50th Anniversary Cookbook, available November 1st. What better way to showcase the hundreds of thousands of meals served to the community over five decades?
KARM is partnering with our friends at the Food Network to create memorable cookbook content that shares:
- The KARM story, history and pictures from 1960-2010.
- Recipes from the past Celebrity Chef events KARM has hosted with Food Network chefs that include Guy Fieri.
- Highlights and recipes from our Abundant Life Kitchen culinary program.
- Wonderful recipes from KARM friends, employees, donors, volunteers and former clients.
Recipe Submission Guidelines:
- Recipes must be typewritten; electronic submission preferred using MicroSoft Word. A submission form is available on this website under "Coming Events-50th Anniversary Cookbook." To ensure accuracy of the recipe, handwritten copies of recipes will not be accepted.
- Deadline for submission is September 10, 2010.
- We're sorry, we cannot guarantee that all recipes will be selected for print.
The cookbook will be available in time for holiday gift giving! To reserve a copy, contact

"Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? ....If you, being imperfect, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more does your Heavenly Father give to those who ask Him?" Matthew 7:9-10

KARM Looking for Jubilee Stories |
In conjunction with the 50th Anniversary “Year of Jubilee” celebration, Knox Area Rescue Ministries is looking for personal stories, history and photographs associated with the ministry over the past fifty years.
KARM would like to hear from previous board members, churches, businesses, volunteers, and clients who have been affiliated with the ministry since its inception. Shared memories and success stories will be archived with other memorabilia from this year’s anniversary.
What started as an effort in 1960 to feed hungry men coming into the city by train, has grown into a ministry now commemorating 50 years of service to the poor, hopeless and homeless of the Knoxville area.
For more information or to submit stories, contact Sue Renfro, Marketing Manager, at (865) 633-7626, or
