In the midst of often ordinary days, yesterday something extraordinary happened at KARM. A sweet little six year old child wanted Santa to bring her something very different on her wish list for Christmas. Instead of gifts, she wanted to help feed the homeless people of her community. No gifts for Christmas? Such a wish from a six year old girl, with all the advertising and marketing about how toys from Santa would bring her joy?
So, some very wise parents got busy and made a plan. The mom was able to arrange to purchase trays of lasagna, salad, and bread reasonably. Working together with our KARM food services staff, the family delivered the food together for lunch for the 300 or so hungry guests at KARM yesterday. A Christmas wish fulfilled! An unusual Christmas dream from a tiny child? Maybe not. “….a little child shall lead them.” – Isa.11:6
