Jade knew tragedy from an early age in life. Jade’s mother passed away when she was 6 and her father passed away when she was 10 leaving her grandmother to raise her. Sadly by the time Jade was 18, all the people Jade had loved and cared for were gone. Life had not given Jade much and she felt like she didn’t deserve much in life.
Soon Jade met the man who would become the father of her two children. This man introduced her to opiates and cocaine. Before long, Jade was addicted.
I couldn’t get it together.
Jade gave birth to both of her kids, but couldn’t get her life together. The worst moment came when Jade lost custody of both her children and was placed in jail for failure to pay child support.
I had no chance of getting my children back. I had lost my housing, my job.
During Jade’s time in jail, she accepted Jesus as her savior. God was working in her life, but upon her release she fell back into her old lifestyle. It was at this point, Jade made the decision to enter Serenity, KARM’s residential recovery program for women.
While in Serenity, Jade learned of the immeasurable depth of God’s love for her. She began to learn she deserved a better life and started to seek it out. Surrounded by a supportive, encouraging community she quit feeling ashamed of who she was.
Now Jade dreams of being able to help other women who find herself in a situation similar to her. Because of you, Jade was able to get her life back together and dreams of helping other women do the same.
There’s still a better life. They can come back from it. It doesn’t have to be the end.
