Kara’s past was filled with years of bad choices and drug abuse. It left her feeling that she wouldn’t be able to overcome her meth addiction.

In Kara’s small town she always knew where to turn for her next fix. Staying there, she didn’t believe her life would change so she googled “Knoxville Mission” and Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries showed up.

Boldly she joined KARM’s Serenity Progran – a program for women struggling with drugs or domestic violence – and her life began to change.

With KARM she learned it is never too late to turn around and go back to God who loves you unconditionally.

I’ve learned to not dwell on the past. I know that I’ve been given a clean slate and I’m not going to be condemned for what I did because the Lord has already forgiven me and given me a new start.

In KARM’s care, Kara overcame her addiction and her past. Despite the damage and hurt she caused her family, she is now walking a path to reconciliation. It’s a path that involves a redeemed relationship with her parents.

My mom said God answered her prayers.

Kara is grateful to God for the second chance He is giving her. She is committed to moving forward with a life that will never be the same. She is excited about all the future holds for her and we are too!

Thank you for your support, which helps Kara overcome addiction and restore a promising future.
