Rescue + Relationships = Restoration

Rescue at KARM focuses on providing basic needs—food, shelter and safety for those in emergency need.

KARM Rescue

Since 1960, KARM’s volunteers, donors and staff have answered the call to restore lives in Jesus’ Name. The ministry formula we use is the same one used by Jesus:
Rescue + Relationships = Restoration.

First act of compassion

KARM serves nearly 1,000 meals each day (365 days a year), feeding both the homeless and people in crisis who must choose between paying bills or buying food. A warm meal is often the first act of compassion that allows KARM staff and volunteers to engage with our guests and begin developing relationships that help reignite hope.

Nowhere to turn

KARM provides emergency shelter to nearly 400 men, women and children each night who have nowhere else to turn—offering a safe place from the elements, rest and loving staff and volunteers who listen, help and pray with and for them.

Immediate emergency

KARM provides immediate emergency shelter for families, then works with other family service providers in the East Tennessee area to find additional resources or housing.

NaNew’s Courtyard

NaNew’s Courtyard, named after someone with special ties to KARM, was opened to provide a safe outdoor space for KARM guests when they weren’t inside the KARM facilities. The courtyard provides water, restrooms, phone chargers, bag storage and permanent shaded seating areas. NaNew’s Courtyard has become a safe outdoor extension of KARM for those on the street.

He rescued us. He longs for a relationship with us. Through that relationship, He restores us.
