Homeless people need more than a nourishing meal and a safe place to spend the night – they need a path to success.
Abundant Life Training
The Abundant Life Training Program offers a highly structured environment where trainees learn and practice professional food service skills and attitudes.
Students study and learn in the context of a working kitchen, which produces daily meals for KARM guests and provides catering services to the Knox area through Abundant Life Catering.
A Chef Trainer collaborates with kitchen staff to measure and track trainees’ progress using a combination of written assessments, practical assessments, and student observation in KARM’s commercial kitchen.

Growing for the future
The Abundant Life Training program is designed to give men and women staying at KARM an opportunity to improve their lives by training for employment in the food service industry.
Clean Start janitorial certification program prepares students for employment in the growing janitorial industry. Students divide their time between classroom, video training and utilizing KARM’s 90,000-square-foot facility as a training lab.
Valuable job training affords advancement and builds work skills and behaviors that help break the cycle of homelessness for the men and women of KARM.
